Joyce Sherry is a playwright-turned-novelist and lifelong storyteller who knows the creative life from both the artistic and business sides. A lover of all things strange and tender, she writes supernatural fantasy where ghosts speak, vampires brood, and hope refuses to die—even after death. Her new author-published novel, A Tale for the Shadows, has been garnering rave reviews.
Joyce holds a B.A. from Middlebury College and an M.A. in Theater Literature and History from the State University of New York. She also studied acting at the Neighborhood Playhouse School of the Theatre in New York City. In all her endeavors, she favors navigating life’s plot twists with humor, empathy, and resilience—skills that inform her approach to writing and publishing.
As an author-publisher, Joyce brings a transparent, hands-on perspective to the evolving world of independent publishing. She speaks candidly about the creative and logistical realities of building an indie author career—from production and marketing to mindset and sustainability. She lives on California’s Monterey Bay with her musician husband, filmmaker son, and a household of expressive animals who insist on cameos in every story.
