Biography

Tinotenda Agatha is a female, young emerging professional based in Harare, Zimbabwe, where she lives with her family. Fluent in English, ChiShona and IsiNdebele, she brings a rich cultural and linguistic background to her work. Her academic journey reflects both dedication and excellence: she earned a Masters Degree in Library and Information Science with Merit from the National University of Science and Technology (NUST) in Bulawayo in 2016, following a Bachelors Degree in Publishing Studies with Upper Second Class honours from the same institution in 2012. Her foundation was laid earlier with three Advanced Level passes in 2007 and nine Ordinary Level passes in 2005.

Tinotenda Agatha’s publishing career has grown steadily, and since January 2022 she has served as Publishing Manager at Priority Projects Publishing. In this role, she conducts market research, oversees editorial policy, manages budgets and productivity, recruits and trains editorial staff and graphic designs. Her earlier roles include serving as Editor and Proofreader at Priority Projects Publishing from 2020 to 2021, where she trained authors, reviewed manuscripts and managed publishing schedules. She also interacts and maintains strong relationships with organisations such as Curriculum Development and Technical Services, Zimbabwe Book Publishers Association (ZBPA) and Zimbabwe International Book Fair Association. Professionally, Tinotenda Agatha has established herself as a textbook author under Zimbabwe’s Heritage Based Curriculum (HBC). She has written work books for Early Childhood Development (ECD) levels A and B in Social Science, English and Science & Technology, as well as Science & Technology textbooks for Grades 1 and 2.

She also contributes to academia as a part-time lecturer at NUST, designing and delivering courses in Publishing Media and Technology Studies department, assessing coursework and moderating examinations. Tinotenda is on the Advisory Board for the same department at NUST since June 2024. She helps to tailor programmes that are aligned with the industry standards so as to better prepare university students for the evolving landscape of publishing.

Her publishing career began with an attachment at the Southern African Research and Documentation Centre (2010–2011), where she copy-edited publications, supervised translators, developed publishing schedules, marketed at the Zimbabwe International Book Fair, and archived publications.

Tinotenda’s achievements highlight her influence in the publishing industry. She participated in the African Publishers Conference in Harare in 2024, contributed to the Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education’s Heritage Based Curriculum syllabi review the same year. Tinotenda participated at the following publishing fellowship programmes: 72 Hour of the Book Fair in Conakry, Guinea in April 2025 and the Chennai International Book Fair in India in January 2026.

Since 2023, she has served as Secretary of the Zimbabwe Book Publishers Association. Beyond her professional commitments, she volunteers as a Church Office Administrator at Grace Communion International Church in Zimbabwe, a role she has held since 2019, reflecting her dedication to both community and faith.
